All of the WCN Care team, residents and their families are saddened to say goodbye to our manager at St Anne’s, Jo Cole. Jo has selflessly dedicated herself to the residents and staff of St Anne’s Nursing Home for more than 21 years. She will be much missed. We are hugely appreciative of her service and contribution to the home and we wish her the very best for the future.
In order to continue to bring our 2 homes closer together, we are redesigning our leadership under one unified management team. Our new Group Manager is the current Registered Manager at Stour Road, Terri Smithers. Terri has spent 10 years working in the Social Care sector in a variety of roles. She is no stranger to St Anne’s either, as in a prior role for WCN Care she reviewed our quality assurance processes, staff training, and recruitment and retention at both homes.
She will be supported by our new Deputy Manager, Jo Pye, who joins WCN Care today with 33 years’ experience working in Health and Social Care. She holds a management qualification; has particular clinical expertise and interest in Dementia care; and has extensive experience delivering and assessing staff training.
Terri and Jo will continue to be supported by a central administrative team, a catering manager and the directors.
We are looking forward to building relationships between both homes, this will be beneficial for both the staff and residents if staff have a wider variety of experience, having both a dementia home and a nursing home allows us to do this with in the company. We believe that having a single management team working across both homes will bring the homes closer together, allowing us to both work towards providing outstanding care, whilst maintaining the individuality of each home.
We feel we are in the position to provide this level of care due to the combination of both our experience and background. Between us both we have extensive knowledge in Dementia, Palliative Care, Person Centred Values and Leadership. We are both looking forward to getting to know all of the residents and families across both homes. We look forward to working with the whole team to make changes that are beneficial to all residents, we want staff to know that their opinion is valued, they are the ones that know our residents best as they are working with them first hand. We are looking forward to seeing both of the homes moving forward.Terri and Jo, the new Unified Management Team at WCN Care
