At St Anne’s we realise that leading a physically active lifestyle can have a significant impact on the wellbeing of people with dementia. As the Alzheimers Society states, we believe that with our residents in mind, physical activity plays an important part of the care that we provide and can:
- Improve cognition – recent studies have shown that exercise may improve memory and slow down mental decline
- Improve sleep, mood and self-esteem
- Providing opportunities for social interaction and reducing the feeling of isolation
With this in mind, we had an exercise session that was well accepted by the residents, families and staff alike.
St Anne’s is based in Southbourne, and has a small cohesive team providing excellent care in a safe, warm, happy environment that is homely in scale. Why not pop in and say hello?
